How To Make Homemade Butter
For some strange reason, making butter from scratch doesn’t really occur to a great many people. The picture that often comes to mind is the bonnet-clad lady churning on an old dusty porch. The thing is—it’s actually really easy. Like throw some cream in a blender and press on easy. You can adjust flavors to your liking—adding spices, herbs, garlic, honey, etc. to create a compound butter. Strain through a cheese cloth and throw on ice for a butter experience like you’ve never had before. Homemade Butter
Ingredients
Heavy whipping cream
Salt (optional)
Directions
1. Add cream to blender or food processor. Season with salt to taste if preferred.
2. Turn blender and food processor on medium. When the cream begins to solidify, turn on high. This will take a couple of minutes.
3. When the cream has turned to a solid, turn off food processor or blender and remove. Place in cheesecloth or clean kitchen towel. Squeeze out remaining liquid.
4. Place in mold or bowl and chill. Butter will keep for weeks.
