There’s no doubt that New Orleans is one of the premier foodie towns in the United States, which explains why “Top Chef” has finally made it to the Big Easy for its 11th season. The popular Bravo series has been criss-crossing familiar fine-dining hubs across the country, including San Francisco and New York.

Now, familiar faces from the show, including judges Tom Colicchio and Padma Lakshmi, have already been spotted around NOLA following the May 10 announcement of the show’s production in the city, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. If you are a chef taking online cooking courses, there is a good chance that you draw inspiration from this popular reality show, as it features some of the best up-and-coming cooks from across the country.

Being named Top Chef is big business. Many chefs in international cooking schools have dreamed of the title, especially since several stars of the show have gone on to become celebrities themselves. The Los Angeles-based production company will continue to film the high-paced cooking competition around the Crescent City for the next several weeks. A specific premiere date has not yet been named, but for the past two seasons, the show has opened in the late fall.

Mark your calendars and get ready to watch – it’s sure to be a great season with stellar food, as always.
