Mushrooms are one of the most abundant organisms on Earth and are often times very healthy, even being used to help treat cancer patients in Japan. Some can be eaten raw, but most of the time they are sautéed or briefly cooked in some manner. To help us tell the difference, Chef Thomas gathered various types of mushrooms in order to explain the different flavors common mushrooms add, how each variation is typically prepared as well as which cultures have been known to utilize them and for what purpose. Edible mushrooms are nothing to be afraid of. This video will get you started in cooking with common mushrooms, and our online culinary class will make sure you always choose the right one.
